Meditation

Let's not waste anytime and get right into it. Meditations are a wellness technique used all over the world across various cultures. Where did meditation come from? Honestly, the scholars don’t even know. When most of us think meditation we think Buddha, but that’s not where it all started. Meditation can be traced back as early as the 4th century BCE.

The English word “meditation” stems from meditatum, a Latin term meaning “to ponder." When in a meditative state you are choosing to heighten your frequency for a better state of awareness. You are literally calling on your higher self! To silence stress, anxiety and/or depression, so you’re able to focus on the task at hand. In these moments we open up ourselves to calmness clarity & healing.

Now all that sounds good, but “Winter, what happens when I can’t focus?” First, make sure before starting you remove any distractions from your immediate area. Put your phone in another room, turn off the tv, occupy the kids, maybe slip them a melatonin gummy sis 🙃. Basically, just make sure you can be left undistracted for at least 10-15 minutes.

Next, cleanse your space. This is very important! Remove all that stale, anxious energy. This can be done by lighting an incense, Soul Prescriptions bomb ass sage, or our palo santos. All while inviting loving & healing energy into your space.

Now, sit in a comfortable position. Take 3 deep breaths. Ensure that your energy is grounded in that moment. Focus on whatever your goal is for meditating. If you seek clarity, focus on the situation in question. When you’re manifesting, focus on what you’d like to accomplish.

Mediation requires you to be a visual person. It takes consistency before you’re able to visualize during your sessions. You’ll still be able to feel it, just focus on the feeling! The feeling of clarity. The feeling of accomplishing that goal. In time, you’ll not only feel it. You’ll see it! And baby, once you see it, it’s in realities reach!

Let me warn you, now…Do not be discouraged if you can’t focus during meditation. If your mind is wandering, that could be a sign that your focused on the wrong thing. Maybe ya ass is just thinking about “what’s for dinner?” Acknowledge the thought. Then refocus on your session. If you fall asleep, pay attention to your dreams. With all that being said..cause baby, that was a read.. I LOVE MEDITATION! I’m nowhere near where I would like to be though in the practice. I mean.. the state of clarity is just unmatched! Prayer is where we ask for guidance and meditation is where we find the answers. So, no matter what, keep going! Never give up! I promise it gets easier!
